Northern Ncounters compiles the highlights of Steel City Records, home to the singular electronic music produced during the fertile but secluded techno golden age that took place in Hamilton, Ontario 1995-1997.

Warping warehouse jams, acid wormholes and rubbery minimalist techno sit alongside other truly unique species brought to life by inventive producers working in an insular underground removed from the emergent and no less revolutionary techno scenes south of the border.

Remastered and compiled with love by current and former Hamilton residents who were lucky enough to experience these tracks bouncing of the walls of Hamilton's many abandoned industrial spaces, the digital album comes with bonus liner notes written chronicling the Steel City Records story and a collection of visual ephemera that gives tantalizing glimpses into this long lost scene.
